Demonstrated Leadership

Combining strong leadership with high quality physician anesthesiologists has been a cornerstone of DVA’s success. DVA carries its service oriented philosophy into the facilities we serve. Our hospital anesthesia chair and ambulatory site specific medical directors work with our partner facilities to ensure excellent patient outcomes and optimal facility performance. DVA works at each site to develop tailored policies and protocols that improve patient care and workflows. 

DVA has developed over a dozen surgery specific and disease specific Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols. Furthermore, we work closely with our partner facilities to ensure successful accreditation visits.  This collaboration also extends beyond our leadership positions with many DVA physicians working on facility based projects and committees that enhance patient care.

DVA also demonstrates its leadership commitment in the medical community and speciality of anesthesiology with many of our physicians occupying key leadership roles in professional societies.  These roles include the recent president of the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists.  DVA members also serve additional leadership roles in the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the DuPage County Medical Society.
